PleatfrontTable

The two tables are simple bridge tables. There is a table top and four legs. Essentially it is an old topic: the column and the roof.

The single leg mutates from a square to a cross-like footprint and vice versa. The thereby generated light and shadow effects are not essential for a table leg. However, for a Greek column it was an important theme. In contrast to the decorated column the mutating leg remains a technical solution with decorative character.

We can read the legs as types of trousers as well, i.e. bell bottoms and pleat-front trousers. The bell bottoms fit tightly at the backside and opens towards the ankle. The pleat-front trousers allow for more space at the backside to tighten towards the ankle.
